About Materials in Works

MATERIALS IN WORKS (MIW) was founded by a group of enthusiastic packaging material experts with proven track record in South East Asia and Oceania. Since 2018, MIW and its associate partners are proficient in the execution of several upcycling projects in the region for acknowledging on United Nation (UN) SDGs Goals.

Mission

MATERIALS IN WORKS (MIW) mission is to call for INDUSTRIAL SYMBIOSIS Program – a collaboration among industry enterprises to upcycle and exchange their by-products in achieving higher resource efficiency, waste minimization and hence reducing negative impact towards environment.

Vision

MATERIALS IN WORKS (MIW) is looking to supply reliable GREEN raw materials to specific industries by recovering valuable resources from collected industrial solid wastes and achieving ZERO WASTE to landfill goal.

Environment is important to humans and all other species that in which we live harmony and peacefully. We are here to help our future generations to be able to enjoy blue skies and green forests.

Our Story

How did you guys start?

After years of distress seeing tons of wastes being generated in the packaging value chain due to the lack of effective waste up-cyclers and systems in the nation. We, the founders of Materials In Works (MIW) embarked on a journey to search for solutions to make most wastes technically recyclable, which didn’t get better with conventional landfill disposal methods. We are always excited to lead in the Industrial Symbiosis Program through the solutions we developed for the betterment of the environment.

“Think Circular, Less is More”

Continuation of Story

MIW is different from conventional recycler. We believe most wastes are technically recyclable.

Our process starts with our R&D team—in-house expertise who work and collaborate with Malaysia leading public universities. The R&D team analyses the materials to determine the right way to process them into something new. This includes how to break down the waste, separate it into its building blocks, and then upcycle those materials for new applications.

Then, we develop the upcycling solutions with the reputable machine suppliers to scale up into a pilot plant. MIW aims to upcycle the hard-to-recycle items because we work with the packaging industry stakeholders who advocate on sustainability.
